GET ON BOARD THE HEMP REVIVAL
-  words, music & recording by James Gordon, published by Pipe Street Publishing, ©2002
http://jamesgordon.cjb.net

Many years ago, Hemp was grown
Everywhere and we don't know why
It's been so hard to get
Folks to see that it's
The rope kind not the dope kind.

It's clean - It's organic -
It's safe - don't panic!
You can make anything from it
It's a miracle plant-
There's nothing hemp can't
Do we know you'll love it

CHORUS

The Earth has a chance for survival
It's not just a fantasy
If you get on board the hemp revival
You can save a planet, if you plant a seed
If you get on board the hemp revival
You can save a planet, if you plant a seed.

The laws that have stopped
Us from growing hemp crops
Have left us far behind
In finding a way that'll
Be Sustainable
I think that you'd find

It'd be the planet's loss if
We use fuel from fossils
We'd increase the odds,
Of being survivors
If we made oil and fiber
From the plant of the gods.

CHORUS

You can't beat it you can eat it as a substitute for meat it's
Very wearable it's terrible that now it isn't shareable
With everyone bur when it comes we know that it'll stay!
As a solution for pollution we know hemp will lead the way!

CHORUS

-  All vocals and music played and recorded by James Gordon

U Know Everything
Lyrics and Music by Pam Norris @2002

You can wear it or bake it,
Build a house, U can take it
round the world in your car as a fuel

If u could grow it/ u could show it
Feed the world/ they would know it
But most places hemp's not legal, 'n' that's cruel

CHORUS

Children are starving everyday, everyday.
Waters are poisoned so the cotton can sway
Hemp could save this planet in a million ways
But U know everything... you know everything, don't u? don't u?
But U know everything... you know everything, don't u? don't u?

We strip our lungs for paper products
so that bleach can burn the earth
And fight resource wars in countries
when right here there is a dearth
of land that could grow hemp/ no chemicals no poisons
Feed the hungry, cloth the poor
Let's embrace this new horizon

CHORUS

Save u, save me
Save u, save me

U will love to discover that hemp will shelter u
Join the voices that say people have the right to choose
Don't let misguided prejudice bite off your nose to spite your face
Hemp's a righteous gift of nature
Given to the the human race.

CHORUS

Save u, Save me
Save u, Save me

But U know everything... you know everything, don't u? don't u?
But U know everything... you know everything, don't u? don't u?

-  Pam Norris - lead vocals
-  Errol Francis - lead electric guitar, bass guitar, backup vocals, percussion

LET IT GROW
by Kevin Munroe @2002

there is a plant that I admire,
it can inspire, it's bred for fiber,
it has many uses, just with its juices,
it's strong and tough and green and true,
dependable, remarkable, natural

There is a plant that is amazing
but corporate greed has led people astray
a diesel engine can run on hemp oil
the seeds and oil are tasty healthy foods
nutritional, exceptional

CHORUS: So Let it Grow, Let Hemp Grow

Hemp is a plant to be commended,
it's been grown for the last 12,000 years
hemp is absorbent, much more than cotton,
it's been forgotten,
but now you know
so let it grow, let it grow

CHORUS

-  all vocals and music played and recorded by Kevin Munroe

HEMPRESS GREEN
Music by Daryl Teneycke Lyrics by Laurien Habijanac @2002

The future is ours, it's yet to be created
Born of our dreams
The future is ours, it's yet to be created
Born of our dreams
There is a Sacred Tool, There is a Sacred Tool
The future is ours, it's yet to be created
Born of our dreams, You and Me.
The future is ours, it's yet to be created
Born of our needs and our means
There is a Sacred Tool, There is a Sacred Tool
We have the tools we need
To create the world of our dreams

There is a plant so sacred
A green plant from ancient time
A tool to be used, A Hempress

There is a Sacred Tool, There is a Sacred Tool

There has got to be a way
To create a world today
Without war, pollution or pain
what we do for what we call gain
We have all we need
To clothe 'n' house 'n' feed

We could learn to care
We could learn to share
The future is ours, it's yet to be created
Born of our dreams, you and me
We have all we need
All we need is to be willing.
-  Laurien Habijanac - vocals
-  Daryl Teneycke - all other music

THE UNIVERSAL HEMP PLANT
Music by Buffy Sainte Marie (Caleb Music), used with permission
Words by Robbie Anderman & Gabriella Mihalik

It's 5 feet deep and it's 12 feet tall,
standing green in a field so proud.
It's beauty and it's leaves, it's fibre and it's seeds
inspires us to sing out loud.

It's Cannabis Sativa, the hemp plant of old.
It never was a threat to humankind.
Growing seeds of nutritious worth
and helping heal the Earth
The stalk becomes a fibre so fine.

You can wear the fibre's cloth
You can eat the tasty seeds,
crush the seeds for oil for food and fuel.
Chop the fibres for good paper,
rub the oil on your skin,
And this is why we think that hemp's so cool.

It's the UNIVERSAL HEMP PLANT, and it's really here to stay.
Our choices come from us forever more
They come from you, they come from me,
as humans we can see,
Hemp is how we start to end this war.

-  Robbie Anderman - lead vocal, mountain dulcimer, quena flute, percussion
-  Errol Francis - backup vocals, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, percussion

Cousin Ken's Hemp Story
music and lyrics by Ken Lillico @2002

Here's some Not-so-famous words George Washington once said,
He said them a long time ago, And he's a long time dead,
Although he prob'ly couldn't spell the word IsoChanvre,
He said, " Make the Most of the Indian Hempseed
and Sow it Everywhere!"

The hempstalk's fibrous outer layer's something that's called "Bast"
and when its resin bonded makes organic fibre-glass!
In the war, Old Henry Ford made cars from Hemp based plastics
But he sold motors to the Nazis, so they labelled him a fascist.

Have your "Hurds" been "Combed" and "Hackled"?
Is your "Retting" process started?
Or does "Scutching and "Decortication" happen when you farted?

Hempnut is the Hemp Seed, after it's been de-hulled
I used to date the "Hemp Girl" but it's long since been Annulled.
Bio Diesel from a weed could even help to save the Planet
Hempseed oil makes Lop Balm, which I use when kissing Janet.

So, if your "Agri-Chemi-Culture" starts to burn your farmland out
Rotate your crops with Hemp three times and bring it back about
Any Anderman will tell ya, (and then they'll try to sell ya some),
That Hempseed is the Soya bean of the new Millennium.

-  Ken Lillico - Vocals, slide guitar, banjo, acoustic guitar

IF WE CAN
Words and Music by Ken Brown ©2002

CHORUS
if we can grow it, you don't wanna know it
if we can't buy what you've got to sell
are we all gonna wind up in hell?
if we can grow it, you don't wanna know it
but if we don't buy what you've got to say
we still got to pay for it anyway

billy randy, he was one of the three
makin' up in paper what he's got in the trees
but you can grow it better so he turn it into fear
so he make money off the things that you read

CHORUS

then there's the man down at dupont,
tellin' us a chemical is what we want,
so he can make a killin', maybe killin' you and me
and win one big war over one small seed

CHORUS

man name of diesel, one that made the motor go
knew he had to burn a fuel, said that green's the way to go
grows like a weed, and it comes from a seed,
burns real clean, he said, now that's what we need
but the man who had the oil said with blood and with toil
you can have the black that they pull from the soil
movin' a mountain, burn it in the air
and it ain't real clean, but a dollar don't care

CHORUS

-  Ken Brown - Vocals, Music and Recording

It's Not About The Money
Lyrics, Music and Recording by Charlie Sohmer ©2002

CHORUS
It's not about the money, it's never 'bout the money
A navy's might will often reach much farther than the shore
Be it hemp grown in Virginia, or born and baled in Tillsonburg
I can't hide, the taxman's knocking at my door

I flew the flag of a mighty Yankee clipper
'Hand to hand, we fell to British fire
Now free to trade, but only with that Bear
He has all the hemp we require
They promise me my ship, but I am bound by favours
Better to have never left my Massachusetts home
I've sailed by stars at night, and by winds that waxed relentless
Now I sail by George, All Mighty, on his throne

CHORUS

Crushed my leg neath shards of shattered rigging
Left consigned to a life filled with regret
But I would not be beaten by the British
Now I grow that hemp for myself
They talk of war all along the St. Lawrence
To clam as ours, that coldest of frontiers
Who is this man who hides behind a plow
Leaning on a stump all of his remaining years

CHORUS

I earn respect when they pay me for my cargo
but a law in fashion once, may in fashion be reviewed
It's hard to hide my crop, in the wagon or the field
I am guilty of the growing, I will not stand accused

Seven months I have waited for my trial
and a debtors business can never be restored
they mock my limp, what use have they for cripples,
who supply the sails for that British Man O' War?

It's not about the money, never 'bout the money
A sailor's dream will sink so much deeper than a stone
Be it hemp grown in Virginia, or born and baled in Tillsonburg
Judges steal my profits, and lawyers pick my bones

-  Charlie Sohmer - Lead vocals, banjo
-  James Stephens - backup vocals, fiddle
